|Sally Black established one of the first home based travel agencies Vacationkids in 2001 with the notion that a family vacation is much more than just a week at the beach. Travel offers parents a way to connect with their kids in a unique and memorable way while creating family bonds that will last for generations.|
Sally left her career as a pediatric nurse to become marketing director for one of the first online travel companies back in 1994. She quickly found herself speaking, consulting and traveling the globe, often with her kids along for the ride. This practical experience, parental multitasking and travel industry insider knowledge is what she shares with her clients and during national TV interviews on CNN, ABC and NBC. Sally has been quoted by the New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. She also writes for the Huffington Post. In 2015, she was a presenter at CruiseWorld and the NY Times Travel show as a family travel expert.
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Vacationkids, Sally published her first book “Fearless Family Vacations – Make Everyone Happy Without Losing Your Mind”. In the book, Sally acts as a tour guide teaching parents how they can confidently plan enjoyable vacation experiences with their children at every age. The book also addresses the unique needs of today’s families offering specific travel tips for divorced, blended, gay, single-parent and multi-generational families.
As her Vacationkids "kids" grew so did Sally's business. As requests for family reunions, destination weddings, celebrations and meetings grew, she created www.VIPGroupTravelEvents.com in 2016
Sally lives with her husband and collies in the Poconos.
