Similar to last year’s conference, we will be having a one-track auditorium style setup where all attendees get to sit in on the same sessions. We value your feedback and read each and every survey we receive, and based on those suggestions, we’ve carefully selected this year’s master of ceremonies. Give a big squirrel hello to Gerard Durling of CoalCreative! Gerard will help to keep the day moving along smoothly by introducing our presenters, keeping the presenters on time, and making helpful announcements throughout the conference. Last year’s MC was Conor O’Brien of The Scranton Fringe Festival and prior to that the squirrels split up the responsibilities.
…And now, a little background about Gerard….
In efforts to create a solutions based Marketing Department for Small Business in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Gerard Durling founded the digital marketing agency CoalCreative. Although he has earned years of public speaking experience, most were as a mean, insulting professional wrestler. With time, a calmer, gentler side has begun to emerge (or so he claims) as he focuses primarily on developing community growth through the creation of The NEPA Influencers who use the #NEPAChallenge to promote a positive outlook in Northeastern Pennsylvania. You can check out some of the positive initiatives that the NEPA Influencers participated in recently here, here, here, and here. You’ll never hear him say “There’s nothing to do in NEPA. He genuinely loves what he does and having the ability to help other companies/entrepreneurs reach their desired results and goals.
Gerard is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre. He also volunteers with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber SMARTies, Make-A-Wish, YMCA Wilkes-Barre, Wilkes Entrepreneurship Club, and Kiss Theatre. In his spare (offline) time he enjoys bike riding, healthy living, painting, creating, and collaborating.
We would also like to thank Gerard and CoalCreative for coming on board as a session sponsor for NEPA BlogCon 2015. His efforts will help to fund Squirrel Girls Tech Camp 2016!
