So – you are really interested in NEPA BlogCon. Maybe it’s the allure of the fabulous fearsome foursome. They’re so cute, aren’t they? Or perhaps you heard there will be some super cool speakers there who just seem like interesting people. Or maybe you just want to help out a great cause that’s benefiting charities, and be involved in a local event. But… uh oh – you don’t even have a blog! How could you even show your face at a BLOG Conference, without a blog! How embarrassing… That’s like the social faux pas of the century, oh my gawd like for sure.
Fear not young Internet padawan. I have compiled 5 reasons you can be assured that going to BlogCon will be worth your while – without even having a blog.
1. There’s always room for you to be just a little bit more awesome.
Okay, so maybe you don’t even HAVE a blog. But listen – the speakers at NEPA BlogCon can teach you about so much more than just “blogging.” They can teach your about developing yourself and pin pointing your identity – then finding a way to channel it into the online space in a productive way. Our keynote speaker, Gala Darling is a self-love revolutionary who always inspires her readers to change their negative attitude and love themselves. People won’t want to read about you online if they think you’re some Negative Nancy – they want some flair, some joy, some spark of awesome that keeps them coming back to you online! That’s positivity we can all channel! Hey Shenee will be chatting about building yourself up as a unique and memorable “brand” – it’s all about developing and establishing your personality so people will know who you are, and they won’t want to forget! Then your readers will be knocking down your blog door to see what you’re saying! And Lauren O’Nizzle is an amazing ray of Internet sunshine who inspires people to laugh on the Internet every day! Make sure people know – you’re worth it.
2. Help our local 570 community continue to move into the age of technology.
Let’s face it – we’re not Silicon Valley of California, with super cool space cars and big fat Fortune 500 companies everywhere you look. We are little baby NEPA. And while we love our area the way it is, we want to see it continue to move along with the current trends in technology. The Internet is kind of a big deal, and not everyone in NEPA knows it. Our local businesses and economy could benefit from proper Internet advertising, and blogging and social media are an important part of that foundation. Let’s make NEPA look like a mover and a shaker… not some stone-age coal mining region with no know-how about where the world is headed. NEPA is just as e-savvy as anywhere else, and we’re out to prove it, BOOYAH!
3. Two words: Geek bellydancers.
What the hell man, didn’t you hear Antipode is going to be there? They are like this amazing troop of girls who combine traditional Arabic belly dancing with themes from geek culture. Think you’d never see Harry Potter performed by cute girls balancing swords on their heads? Think again. They’ve done shows with themes ranging from Super Mario Brothers to steampunk. They will be bringing to life some of the best things from the Internet at NEPA BlogCon. Don’t miss a chance to meet these super awesome girls and be entertained by their moves.
4. Be inspired… chat with other bloggers and get ideas for your own blog.
You’ve heard it a million times… what’s the number 1 reason people don’t blog? They just don’t have any idea what to write about! We’re unsure of our voice, our focus, and what we want to be putting into cyberspace. When you come to NEPA BlogCon, sure you’ll see awesome speakers, but you’ll also be rubbing elbows with 100 other local Intenetters. Chances are, a lot of them have a blog and they want to talk to you about it. You’ll meet people who write Foodie blogs, Travel blogs, Fashion blogs, hell even combinations of all different things. But they will inspire you and drive you to find your voice for your blog. You’ll leave the event buzzing with inspiration and you’ll go home with a perfect foundation to start your new blog and change the face of cyberspace forever!
5. Develop a stellar social Internet presence and put yourself out there – IRL and through your fave social media sites.
Social media is still a big deal. We are all on Facebook! And social media is a great way to connect with people who have similar interests. If you’re a business, it’s an invaluable way to instantly scout for new clients or find out what people are saying about you. Meet people in real life and then connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Google +, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, WHATEVER! You’ll make more connections and potentially meet that next new super awesome person who will open the next door to something cool in your life. That next big opportunity could be knock, knock, knocking on the door at NEPA BlogCon!
