(Our question of the day is a fun featurette that lets YOUR voice be heard. We won’t be asking questions EVERY DAY but we will be asking them somewhat often.)

Where do you get your inspiration?

Do you have Google alerts set for the latest political or celebrity news, scan the store aisles for the newest products, stalk Mashable, meditate in your zen garden, or interview cats? Share how you get inspiration, overcome blogger’s block and generate fresh content and scoops for your blog posts on a regular basis.

This and more at NEPA BlogCon but for now…..

Post your answer as a comment. We would love to hear what you have to say!!

They call me the RSS Queen. I have Google Reader setup with the local news papers/tv stations, tv show websites, celeb gossip and blogs that I find interesting. I'm up to 105 feeds that I read and check religiously every day!

I have iGoogle set up with different tabs and feeds for the different projects I am involved with and things I am interested in (this is going away in Nov. so I am experimenting with Protopage.com). Sometimes I do surveys and LinkedIn questions - or something as simple as a question in my status update on Facebook. I also get email from my primary blog at karlaporter.com with all kinds of questions I can sanitize from all personal details and answer publicly. I also write about my work and read plenty of TV / Internet news sites.

If I see something colorful that makes me happy, I am automatically inspired. Fun fun fun!!! I am the color queen. Also wine is kind of my muse.

My inspirations comes from a lot of places: things I see and so throughout the day, conversations I have with people, lines of thought I decide to pursue, sometimes even dreams and nightmares. Sometimes my posts are responses to things I read online or events going on at the time.

My blog is about finances and I'm inspired by my own finances. When I run into problems, make mistakes and win with money, I'll blog about it.

I also dabble a little bit into fashion, career and self image. All inspired by life's events. I guess it's more of a diary at times.

My inspiration comes from all over the place, but I keep a swip file/clip file for post topics and ideas. I have tons of scrap paper with notes scribbled on them, clippings from magazines and conference brochures, screenshots and links to webpages and posts....I'm really disorganized, but it seems to work for me so far :) (P.S. Evernote, Dropbox, and my inbox = my besties)
