Squirrel Girls Tech Camp

Girls entering 4-6 grade encouraged to sign up for Squirrel Girls Tech Camp now!

NEPA BlogCon, the region’s only blogging and social media conference, is excited to announce locations and dates for this year’s STEM education camp: Squirrel Girls Tech Camp (SGTC):

Squirrel Girls Tech Camp offers the opportunity for girls in grades 4 through 6 to explore STEM topics in an encouraging, creative, and confidence-building environment. The curriculum incorporates a variety of media and hands-on activities, including lessons on computer science and programming, animation, game creation, digital music, robotics, internet safety, graphic design, and digital etiquette. The fun-filled, engaging, and educational experience at camp continues on with additional software to keep creating and building at home.

The camp will be open to 25 registrants at each one-week camp, at a cost of $50 per child. A limited number of scholarships are available for families unable to pay the registration fee, thanks to the generous support of NEPA BlogCon attendees and sponsors. Scholarship applications, as well as registration details and forms, are available on the registration portal (just click on a camp above!).

SGTC is a project of NEPA BlogCon, co-sponsored by TecBRIDGE, a regional collegial organization that collaboratively strives to create and embrace entrepreneurial opportunities with the purpose of growing technology and biotechnology wealth within Northeastern Pennsylvania. Other 2017 partners include The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber, The THINK Center, Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18, and Penn State Worthington Scranton.

NEPA BlogCon, founded in 2012, is the region’s only blogging and social media conference. It is designed to bring together bloggers of all experience levels, as well as those interested in marketing, social media, creativity, leadership, and branding. Each year, NEPA BlogCon draws hundreds of attendees to the region from blog local communities and the tri-state area. All proceeds from NEPA BlogCon support the growth of Squirrel Girls Tech Camp. This year, NEPA BlogCon will be held October 14, at Penn State Worthington Scranton.
